About Us
Welcome To FARAJA
Most African countries face many challenges relating to mortality, ignorance, lack of support from the community, political instability, high poverty rates, lack of financial facilities, failure to initiate entrepreneurship ideas and innovations, unemployment and lack of access to technological advancements. A team of young entrepreneurs met in 2013 to showcase Africa’s best-kept secret of its emerging young human capital to work for the transformation of their communities. This would, in the long steer mindset-change the negative stereotypes of the continent; hence, “Faraja (Swahili word to mean comfort) Africa” acting as a change vehicle.
Faraja Africa Foundation’s commitment to youth empowerment and engagement has led to numerous collaborations with local, international, funding entities and government agencies in East Africa and Africa, starting in Uganda with Tanzania and Kenya.
On January 13th 2016, Faraja Africa was officially registered in Uganda and later in Tanzania and Kenya. For sustainability, the model of Faraja Africa is distinctive, operating as a digital social enterprise generating revenue to fund activities related to its mission.
In addition, Faraja’s commitment to youth empowerment and engagement has led to numerous collaborations with funding and government agencies in East Africa and Africa, starting with Tanzania. These successes have positioned Faraja as the to-go-to entity for digital storytellers, conveners, and youth-led and focused social entrepreneurs.
