About Our Founder: Emmanuel Wabwire

Emmanuel Wabwire is the Founder and Executive Director of the Faraja Africa Foundation; He was born on 7th November 1990 in Mbale District. He is an International Gold Award winner the 2018 Duke of Edinburgh IA for outstanding community change agents in Africa. He carries an academic background of a Masters in Business Administration from the Catholic University of Milan and a Bachelors in Development Studies from Uganda Christian University. Wabwire has over 12 years of experience in working with young people and youth development work under thematic areas of social entrepreneurship leadership, civic engagement, digital literacy, economic empowerment, and education.

He has also had the privilege of serving in various leadership positions over the years, amongst which he was the: Chief Executive Officer & Founder of the International Development Students’ Society, the Africa and European Regional Representative of the Commonwealth Students’ Association, the Guild President of Uganda Christian University, the Secretary for International Affairs for the Uganda National Students’ Council, Treasurer for Uganda Red Cross Society Youth Council, Since 2015 the Youth Chairperson for Uganda National Commission for UNESCO and a strong voice at the All Africa Students’ Union.

As a Social Entrepreneur, Emmanuel believes in the principle of each one teaching one, taking a stand and lending a hand.
